Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) Video Series: Advanced Colorectal Cancer & Being Your Own Advocate

When Elaine Newcombe was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer, she was not given any treatment options. In this video she talks about seeking treatment against all odds and the importance of preventive measures for family members of cancer patients.

Elaine is also a proud member of Fight CRC’s RATS (Research Advocacy Training and Support) program, which partners with academic institutions and numerous cancer partners, including Genomic Health, to improve the ability of research advocates to effectively participate in the research process. RATS is open to anyone who has been impacted by colorectal cancer, including survivors, caregivers, and loved ones, and is therefore uniquely positioned to allow patients to share their perspectives with both peers and leading cancer community experts. Learn more about RATS and how you can apply.

Fight Colorectal Cancer is a leading colorectal cancer advocacy organization that provides information and resources to patients, empowers survivors, trains advocates and educates lawmakers to push for better policies around colorectal cancer prevention and treatment.
